PUMP and Compressors - Part 1(PUMP)

What is PUMP? What is Compressor? What is different of them? So you can follow on this article. Pumps is the machine that have a function to increase up the head of fluid. Head are definite as Energy per unit weight, and have unit as the same as the long unit.

1. static head = z, definite as the height head. It can be count as the differential of height of suction and discharge
2. kinetics head = v²/2g
3. pressure head = P

There are many type of pump. In majority we can describe:

1. Displacement Pump, such as reciprocating and rotary pumps
   
2. Non-Displacement Pump, such as centrifugal pump, axial pump
   

Nozzle And Diffuser

The wrong opinion of Nozzle Description : "Nozzle is one equipment to make some fluid are jump out from the inside place". But the right description of Nozzle is: "The Energy Conversion to change the PRESSURE as potential energy, to movement as kinetics energy".

The other equipment that have reverse duty is DIFFUSER. The diffuser have a duty:"Convert the fluid movement as kinetics energy to the pressure as potential energy.
